Position: Domestic Operations Agent, Freight Forwarding
Job Description:
The Domestic Operations Agent will manage transportation for a handful of Omni’s key accounts and provide the customer with unmatched service from the initial quote to the delivery. Omni is all about the customer experience, so we have a dedicated operations agent assigned to manage each customer, creating a mutually beneficial relationship. Daily tasks include quoting customers, pulling inventory, booking shipments, tracking and tracing, and invoicing. The Domestic Operations Agent can dynamically route to maximize margins on each shipment handled. We work in a team atmosphere, so all operators are cross trained in customer accounts. The sales team, warehouse staff, and operators work together to meet our customer’s ever-changing and evolving needs.
Core Responsibilities & Duties:
- Domestic Air & Ground shipment processes are completed in compliance with all applicable regulations and procedures.
- Ensure import/export processes are completed in compliance with all applicable regulations and procedures
- Work within the Aviation Vertical AOG Operations team to complete shipments from start to finish
- Review and identify areas to maximize profitability
- Maintain and develop customer relationships
- Ensure all billing is carried out within a timely fashion and monitor input of purchase costs into the system to enable accurate billing and profit reporting
- Ensure quotations are responded to in a timely fashion dependent on customer requirements
- Ensure all mandatory training is completed within the required time frames
- Other duties as assigned
Job Requirements & Qualifications:
- Domestic Operations-Freight Forwarding experience required – Import & Export experience not required but is a plus
- Proven industry experience
- Sound knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel
- Dangerous Goods Compliant an advantage
- The ability to work proactively using own initiative
- Proven communication skills, both written and verbal
- Previous experience dealing with a varied customer base
- Capacity to build strong relationships
- Ability to consider several possible options and decide on most appropriate method
- IT skills to an appropriate level
- Excellent process and planning skills
- Strong commercial awareness; Understands impact of actions
