Forza Group, A rapidly growing engineering and industrial construction firm in the Atlanta area is seeking an experienced Millwright with enthusiasm and interest in machines to join our fast-growing team. As a Millwright, you’ll make sure your team completes their work correctly and safely. You'll also help with organizing and training workers, and ensure everything runs smoothly during your shift.
You will be working in various settings for different industrial projects. This position requires you to use your specialized tools to build and repair machines. You will set up machinery based on highly technical instructions and blueprints and occasionally move machines to various locations. You will ensure all machines operate correctly and the facilities remain safe.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Build new industrial and construction machinery
- Repair broken or defective machine parts, using welding and brazing tools
- Align equipment by using specialized tools (e.g., micrometer, plumb bobs)
- Review and follow highly technical and complex machinery manuals
- Transfer machines to several sites, either to install them or repair them
- Disassemble machine parts when transporting or repairing them, and reassemble the parts
- Collect and store distinct machinery parts
- Visit construction sites to assess potential problems or needs
- Collaborate with construction workers or engineers when using the machines
- Oversee Team: Assign tasks to employees and make sure they complete them correctly.
- Lead by Example: Stay organized, keep the work area clean, and follow safety rules.
- Safety First: Ensure everyone works safely and follows the company’s health and safety rules.
- Shift Start & End: Help get everything ready at the beginning of the shift and ensure the warehouse is cleaned up at the end.
- Provide Tools: Make sure workers have the right tools and materials to do their jobs.
- Training: Teach new workers how to do their jobs the right way.
- Give Feedback: Let your supervisor or manager know how workers are doing.
- Report Problems: Tell a supervisor right away if there is an accident or any safety issue.
- Follow Company Rules: Report any rule-breaking or safety violations to your supervisor.
- Support Safety: Participate in health and safety programs and make sure everyone follows the rules.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Proven experience as a Millwright or in a similar role
- Hands-on experience with construction equipment and machinery
- Availability to travel regularly to different sites
- Effective communication and computation skills
- An eye for detail and a team player attitude
- Certification as a Millwright based on national standards
- All applicants must be able to pass pre-employment testing including background check, MVR check, and drug screen.
Work Environment:
You’ll work on the job site near heavy machinery, so safety is a top priority.
Education and Experience:
- High School diploma or equivalent required
