Description
The Quality Control Manager will develop, implement, and periodically evaluate the Quality System and the Process Control Program to ensure the organization’s production operations, from receiving the raw materials, to storage and ship the finished products, meet the quality, integrity, and efficiency standards set by the organization.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Evaluates production operations from a strategic level to ensure that products meet quality, integrity, functionality, and other specification and requirements.
- Review design plans, process procedures, test procedures, and quality manuals to understand scope, requirement, and function of products.
- Review root causes of problems in the production process; recommends and/or implements corrective measures.
- Review and analyze data to identify trends in product quality or defects with the goal of mitigating and preventing recurrence and future defects.
- Ensures products meet the organizations and customers quality and product integrity requirements.
- Collaborates with management and senior staff across production departments and roles to draft acceptable quality standards.
- Develops and implements quality standard testing and evaluation processes.
- Facilitates communication among production divisions and management.
- Assesses test results and approves recommended changes.
- Reviews quality control documentation such as checklist, logs, and reports for effectiveness, accuracy, and relevance.
- Conducts random inspections and quality control checks.
- Periodically reports status of quality control and operations to executive leadership and, when required, regulatory agencies.
- Maintain and update all Quality certifications needed to operate the facility and facilitate the documentation to external auditors.
- Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications
REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to train staff.
- Thorough understanding of quality control standards and methodologies.
- Thorough understanding of manufacturing and production in the industry.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong supervisory and leadership skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office or related software.
EDUCATION:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related industrial, scientific, or business field required; Master’s degree preferred.
- 8-10 years of related experience required with five years as a quality engineer or similar role highly preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
- Prolonged periods standing and walking.
- Able to bend, stretch, push, pull, kneel, squat, twist and move as needed to reach, clean, and service machinery.
- Must be able to visually inspect machines.
