Responsible for a wide range of complex naval architecture and engineering duties on a variety of projects that the technical engineering team within Foss Maritime Company supports, which includes engineering needs of operating companies within Saltchuk Marine and the Saltchuk family of companies.
This is a full-time position that will continue through the duration of the project contract with an anticipated conclusion on or before December 31, 2027.
Essential Functions :
- Provides engineering and design services under the direction and supervision of the director and project engineers.
- Engineering work is focused primarily in naval architecture, including vessel design, structural design and analysis, stability analysis, vessel modification and refurbishment plans and specifications, regulatory analysis and other naval architecture and engineering services.
- Supports engineering services for international and domestic marine transportation projects, including heavy sealifts.
- Provides design review and support engineering services for new vessels and services in existing and developing markets for Foss Maritime and outside clients.
- Provides naval architecture support of civil engineering and construction clients for design and construction of inland, waterfront and marine infrastructure projects.
- Supports Foss Maritime Company and other operating companies under Saltchuk and Saltchuk Marine, in development of vessel construction, modification, operations and transportation projects.
- Performs special duties and other projects as assigned.
- Adheres to all company policies.
- Accomplishes all tasks as appropriately assigned or requested.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :
Minimum Qualifications : This position generally requires a Bachelor's degree in naval architecture. Additional relevant marine industry experience is preferred. Engineer-In-Training (EIT) certificate is also highly desirable.

Pay for this position will be :
Naval Architect 1 : $79,164-$118,749 annually
Naval Architect 2 : $86,968-$130,452 annually
Naval Architect 3 : $102,978-154,467 annually
Salary : $79,164 - $118,749
