As the District Operations Manager (DOM), you will be responsible for collaborating with corporate leaders to implement district operational strategies to ensure organizational effectiveness and district profitability through leading, developing, and mentoring staff; planning, overseeing best practice adherence, ensuring high quality Swim Path curriculum, maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction; and ensuring optimal pool and facility standards. You will be an action-oriented self-starter with a high level of people development, problem solving and process improvement skills.
Essential Job Functions as a District Operations Manager:
Operational and Financial Performance
- Collaborate with corporate leaders to plan and implement financial goals for district including lesson and retail revenue, controllable expenses, staffing levels, inventory management and other aspects of the district’s financial success.
- Lead school management team to plan and manage class enrollments, registration process, and customer engagement initiatives.
- Utilize KPI metrics to build plans of action and drive business results.
- Participate in goal setting and change management processes and lead team to support meeting business goals.
- Monitor and evaluate class enrollments across district to ensure the optimal number of classes are offered to meet enrollment expectations or closed/rescheduled classes mitigate customer concerns or financial losses.
- Ensure a safe workplace by practicing company safety policies and procedures.
- Create and maintain an effective staffing model across district to ensure high quality customer experiences.
Staffing and Talent Management
- Lead, mentor, and guide school management team.
- Develop talent to meet district and company leadership needs including a bench.
- Collaborate with Human Resources Business Partner to identify educational opportunities and growth strategies for team members.
- Review and optimize organizational effectiveness by collaborating with corporate leaders to develop and implement people strategies that maintain an empowering and motivating work environment.
- Demonstrate the ability to build trusted and effective relationships to advance an organizational culture that lives the FOSS Cultural Pillars and Guiding Principles.
- Lead Onboarding activities to ensure new leaders are properly engaged in the company training program and are welcomed onto the team.
- Collaborate with leaders to set clear goals that empower and motivate them to meet priorities.
- Lead innovation and positive change in district and across the organization.
- Coach and counsel leaders regarding individual performance and other career development opportunities, taking corrective action when necessary.
Program Management
- Ensure school leaders are managing team Swim Path and program curriculum related requirements.
- Lead school management team through Program Evaluations, Level Recommendations, and Walk Back conversation best practices.
Customer Engagement and Community Partnership
- Build relationships with customers to create loyalty and excitement for the FOSS brand, purpose, programming, and community.
- Manage metrics such as OSAT to ensure quality standards are being met or exceeded.
- Manage escalated customer relations needs quickly and efficiently ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Collaborate with corporate leaders to plan and implement customer outreach and community engagement initiatives, partnering with external organizations or vendors as necessary.
- Function as a FOSS brand ambassador and champion for safe swimming programs.
Pool and General Facility Management
- Understand the operations of the pump room equipment and maintenance needs.
- Ensure school teams are following routine maintenance schedule for pool and pump room equipment and chemicals to uphold optimal working order and safety standards.
- Execute School Visit Guides monthly to track ongoing results and communicate wins and opportunities with the team in real time.
Qualifications, Skills, & Abilities:
- Bachelor’s degree or high school diploma with equivalent amount of hands-on experience or training necessary to meet the essential functions of the position.
- 3 years of retail, health and fitness, restaurant, or other related experience in managing multi-unit profitability, customers relations, and staff or 5 years in single unit operations management.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, manage, and develop leaders.
- Self-motivated with a desire to achieve results and excel individually and as a team.
- Flexibility to manage a shifting work schedule to accommodate school hours of operations including nights and weekends.
- Demonstrate aptitude for analyzing data, reports, or related documents to drive decision making.
- Demonstrate ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines while maintaining attention to detail.
- Demonstrate ability to manage confidential and sensitive information, possess a high degree of personal integrity and sound judgment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively present ideas to internal teams and external partners or vendors.
- Ability to participate in organizational, employee or community engagement events, as necessary.
- Up to 30% travel, with overnight stays required in and out of state.
Working Conditions: (if applicable)
- Ability to work in water and demonstrate the physical movements necessary to teach the FOSS Swim Path curriculum.
- Work in an indoor pool facility that will be warm and humid with water temperatures up to 91 degrees.
- Ability to work in areas exposed to noise, chemicals, and industrial equipment and supplies.
- Speak with others, including children, using clear, professional, and age-appropriate language.
- Move up and down stairs, service ramps, and/or ladders.
- Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
- Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing 15 pounds without assistance and heavier lifting or movement tasks with assistance.
- Review documents, computer monitors or displays with potentially small print.
- Operate a computer, handheld device such as an iPad, phone and other common office tools or controls.
- Mentally focus on tasks and apply sound reasoning and judgement.

*Benefits vary by full-time and part-time.
Compensation Details:
Ranges from $100,000 to $130,000, plus quarterly bonus potential target of 25%
