We are seeking an experienced ELECTRICAL QUALITY ASSURANCE INSPECTOR for a part-time position located in our Dallas, Texas office. A candidate who has their own contracting business and will subcontract to our organization on a large construction project would be ideal.
- Ensure comprehensive quality assurance inspections regarding Capital Improvement projects for the San Antonio Airport.
- Serve as Quality Assurance and Quality Control Inspector for the San Antonio Airport.
- Provide world-class on-site technical expertise and decision making as needed.
- Collaborate with key partners and stakeholders to discuss and report on project progress.
- Oversee daily inspections on high profile equipment, including electrical, IT, fire alarm, HVAC, baggage handling, and fire suppression, among others.
- Conduct comprehensive payment application review meetings in collaboration with contractors and sub-contractors to review projects and payment accuracy.
- Review and evaluate as-built drawings for accuracy and completeness.
- Responsible for performing testing and acceptance commissioning of systems with contractors.
- Ensured comprehensive pre-construction inspections for all projects.
- Authored and edited scopes of work, including verification of plans for completeness and accuracy.
- Successfully coordinated construction projects in compliance with Chief Construction
Position Requirements
- 5 or more years of inspection experience on municipal water construction projects.
- Have an understanding of construction standards and practices.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Flexibility to travel to construction sites for extended periods and work outside of normal business hours.
- Must be self-directed yet a team player, and have a focus on quality, integrity and success.
- Valid Texas Driver's License required.
- The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving machinery & mechanical parts, uneven ground, exposure to dust, gas or fumes, exposure to loud noise, and outside weather conditions.
- The physical requirements must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Intermittent unassisted sitting, walking, standing, bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, twisting, stooping, crawling, pushing and lifting is required. Must be able to walk and/or stand for prolonged periods of time for at least eight hours per day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move light equipment up to 50 pounds without assistance. Must be alert to equipment in the field, occasional need to work near hazardous equipment and machinery, ability to walk on uneven ground while physically maneuvering construction sites, ability to work in extreme temperatures or humidity, and potentially work at heights.
- Possession of a valid state of residence driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Daily travel to and from construction sites, generally within 100 miles from the home office is expected. Short term, out of town, assignments may be required. Long term, out of town, assignments may be required, with advance notice of planned dates.
- May be required to work protracted and irregular hours to meet client's needs, including nights, overtime and weekends.
