What are the responsibilities and job description for the Propane Regional Sales Representative position at Foster Fuels?
SUMMARY
The Propane Regional Sales Representative will be responsible for delivering on annual volume targets for all Foster Fuels propane products and services. This will be achieved through prospecting and winning new business in the Central Virginia region. A successful candidate will need to cultivate and grow new and existing customer relationships to drive and support growth within the Propane Operations business unit.
DUTIES
- Responsible for meeting with current and prospective customers to solicit business within a geographic area.
- Follow up with all leads and ensure all communications to support and build the Foster Fuels brand.
- Perform aggressive marketing, cold calling, and new business development for Propane Systems and Products.
- Provide proper communications (personal, electronic, voice, and written) with customers and prospects on product pricing, availability and quality.
- Understand the technical aspects of products and services.
- Communicate current pricing and promotional offerings to customers.
- Understand the competitive landscape.
- Address customer service concerns related to billing, invoicing, and pricing as they arise and escalate as necessary.
- Responsible for attending Chamber of Commerce, Community, Industry and Trade Show related events as required.
- Visit with potential and current residential or commercial customers to provide an estimate based on their propane and appliance needs.
REQUIRED SKILLS
- 3 years of sales experience.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability build customer relationships.
- Must have proficient skills in Microsoft Office.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
- Must maintain active target customer accounts and prospect lines.
- Ability to handle change related to customer needs and situational demands.
- Good organizational skills and ability to work independently.
- Able to read manuals and basic floor plans and layouts.
PREFERRED SKILLS
- Industry knowledge of Propane and Gas appliances.
- Familiar with CRM tools and managing customer accounts.
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing or a related field.
