What are the responsibilities and job description for the Associate Advisor position at Foster Group?
The Associate Advisor will work closely with Clients, Advisors, and Client Services to service the needs of Foster Group’s clients. This position will work directly with clients in conjunction with Lead Advisors to serve the needs Foster Group’s clients. The position requires teamwork and coordination between various departments to organize and execute or delegate client requests accurately and efficiently.
Primary Duties:
1. Advisor Liaison
• Support Advisors in the delivery of our Advisory services
• Update and monitor financial plans for existing clients
• Coordinate meeting preparation, communicate with outside advisors, and research various planning topics
• Participate and lead various aspects of client meetings
• Identify and coordinate execution of follow-up items following client meetings
2. Client Administration
• Serve as the client’s key contact for account administration and service requests
• Respond to client requests timely and accurately
• Coordinate communication and interpretation of client requests to the Service Team
• Organize and document financial planning information
3. On-boarding of new clients
• Gather information and construct financial plans
• Collaborate with Service Team to provide assistance around new account establishment
• Conduct research related to asset transfer (e.g., cost basis, fund analysis)
• Assist with determining the appropriate allocation and portfolio for client’s investment accounts
4. Continual Process Improvement
• Determine processes that could be modified to allow Advisory Team to deliver a higher level of client service
• Identify tasks that are candidates for automation
• Work with various departments to streamline current procedures
5. Other duties as needed
Education/ Experience:
• Bachelors degree required
• 2–5 years’ work experience in the financial services field
• CFP designation or pursuit of CFP designation
Required Skills:
The Associate Advisor must have strong interpersonal, communication, problem solving, and data gathering skills. The individual must be a self-starter and be able to interpret obscure requests. This person must be articulate and have a high level of comfort talking with clients. The individual must be a team player who is flexible and open to change as well as demonstrate the ability to handle multiple requests simultaneously. Intermediate MS Office skills needed.
