What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Manager position at Foster Lawson?
Foster Lawson are partnered with an industry-leading meat player who are looking to add a Maintenance Manager to their team in Omaha, Nebraska.
The ideal candidate will have past maintenance leadership experience, as well as experience in meat or, failing that, food more generally.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all maintenance operations to ensure production equipment, refrigeration systems, and facility infrastructure are running efficiently and safely.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for processing equipment, packaging lines, HVAC, boilers, and wastewater systems.
- Ensure compliance with USDA, FDA, OSHA, and food safety regulations, including sanitary design standards and maintenance documentation for audits.
- Lead and manage the maintenance team, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance evaluations of technicians and support staff.
- Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues on critical production machinery (e.g., slicers, grinders, conveyors, chillers, and vacuum sealers).
- Coordinate with production and quality teams to minimize downtime and optimize production efficiency during planned and unplanned maintenance events.
- Manage maintenance budget and procurement, ensuring availability of critical spare parts, tools, and service agreements.
- Track and report KPIs such as equipment uptime, MTTR (Mean Time to Repair), and PM completion rates using a CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System).
- Lead continuous improvement projects focused on reliability, energy efficiency, and equipment upgrades aligned with production goals.
- Maintain a safe working environment, ensuring compliance with lockout/tagout (LOTO), PPE protocols, and safety training for the maintenance team.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field
- 10 years of maintenance leadership experience
- 10 years of food experience
Salary : $180,000 - $190,000
