As part of the Foster Success team, the Assistant Director of Health & Well-Being, advances the organization’s mission by ensuring teens and young adults have access to a continuum of health and well-being programs. The Assistant Director of Health & Well-Being works under the Senior Director of Impact and Programs to manage the day-to-day delivery of health and well-being programs, supervise program staff, and assist in advancing the goals and priorities of the impact areas to support the successful transition of teens and young adults from foster care into adulthood.

Skilled in overseeing program logistics, including participant outreach, scheduling, budget management, resource distribution, and program evaluation. Ensures the sustainability and effectiveness of programs such as Basic Needs, Real Adulting and MAPS by continuously assessing and refining service delivery.

Exceptional collaboration skills to build trust and rapport with program participants, colleagues, mental health providers, and community partners. Skilled in developing and maintaining partnerships with internal teams and external stakeholders to strengthen program impact and expand access to health and well-being resources for young adults with foster care experience.

Ability to design and deliver engaging health education and well-being programs, addressing topics such as mental health awareness, self-advocacy, and independent living skills. Provides technical assistance and training to staff and program participants to enhance understanding of available resources.
Data Management and Reporting
Demonstrates impact by maintaining accurate records, assisting with report preparation, and utilizing data management systems (e.g., Salesforce) to track participant progress. Committed to real-time, precise documentation to support program evaluation and continuous improvement efforts.

Primary Responsibilities
- 50% Program Management - Collaborate with Foster Success staff, service providers, and external partners to design and implement programs to improve the health & well-being of young adults who have experienced foster care. Oversee all aspects of Foster Success’s health programs, including partnership development, management, and budget tracking.
- Basic Needs & Vital Documents - Manage the delivery and development of the Basic Needs Fund and vital documents support. Monitor fund utilization and ensure equitable distribution of resources to meet participant needs.
- MAPS- Lead the day-to-day operations of the MAPS (Mental Health Acceptance, Promotion, Support) program, ensuring young adults have access to quality mental health resources. Strengthen partnerships with internal and external mental health providers to improve service accessibility and impact.
- Real Adulting- Serve as program manager for the Real Adulting education program. Oversee and support staff from across the organization in implementing monthly webinars.
- Insuring Foster Youth Trust Fund– Oversee the implementation of the Insuring Foster Youth Trust Fund, ensuring young people have access to obtaining their driver’s licenses and securing affordable auto insurance.
- 20% Supervision Support- Provide direct supervision of the Health & Well-Being Coordinator, contracted young people as needed and manage the oversight of contracted MAPS therapists. Assist in attracting, retaining, and developing the talent needed to advance the goals and priorities of Foster Success. Support the Senior Director of Impact & Programs in building a successful team through communication, coaching, guidance, and training. Provide training and technical assistance to team & program participants as needed.
- 10% Outreach and Awareness - Represent the organization on a local and national level in meetings with external partners and attend partner events. Represent the organization to the public as a child welfare thought leader. Build and maintain strong relationships with a diverse set of external partners.
- 20% Data Tracking and Reporting - Utilize data and other resources to develop and deliver effective health & financial wellness programs and resources. Obtain participant and partner feedback through evaluations, surveys, focus groups, and other tools for reporting and program improvement purposes. Provide support to the Sr. Director in creating and submitting monthly and annual grant reports

- Hold a valid Driver’s License and have access to a vehicle or the ability to rent a vehicle for work-related travel.
