GRANT ACCOUNTING ASSISTANT

Job Status: Full-time, non-exempt
Reports to: Senior Grant Accountant
Responsibilities: Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Monitors/reviews grant ex. grant expenditures and assists Senior Grant Accountant & Program Managers with building budgets, reviewing /tailoring accounts to grant needs, preparing journal entries, invoicing
- Assists with month-end closing procedures including balance sheet reconciliations
- Reconciles monthly pre-assigned balance sheet accounts
- Compiles documentation for grant billings and journal entries
- Other duties as assigned:
- Clinical billing
- Lawyers for Kids payments
- HRA (MBI) payments
- Company mileage processing & training
- Control Pay processing
- Bank reconciliations
- Petty cash reconciliation
- Inventory
- CPR invoicing
- Light bookkeeping tasks & filing
- Assists with internal & external financial audits
- Active participation with all agency departments; attend meetings as assigned so the agency’s efforts to assist clients and maintain licensing/contract/COA standards are coordinated for maximum effectiveness
- Maintain strong, open communication with direct supervisor regarding services delivered, concerns or questions
Performance, Quality & Improvement (PQI)
- Complete agency reports and statistics as needed or assigned
- Ensure procedures are in place to track and report financial outcomes for quality assurance purposes
- Ensure all provider files are in compliance with requirements
Qualifications & Preferred Skills
- Minimum 3 years professional experience, experience with bookkeeping, data processing, grants, contracts, billing
- Strong/proficient use of Microsoft Excel
- Strong experience in accounting software
- Resourcefulness in setting priorities, creating efficiencies, guiding investment in people/systems
- Organizational & planning skills
- Strong verbal & written communication skills
- Leadership, team management, interpersonal skills, establish rapport/build trust
- Knowledge & understanding of HIPAA laws & client privacy
- Commitment to the mission & core values of FAC; willingness to perform other duties as required
- Collaborate/advocate for positive outcomes, within multi-disciplinary, diverse, dynamic professional teams
