PREVENTION SERVICES MANAGER

Reports to: Director of Prevention Programs
Responsibilities:
Administrative Leadership & Management
- Supervise the Fostering Prevention (FP) & Kinship Navigation (KN) programs
- Employee satisfaction
- Build a sense of team
- Conduct evaluation of FP & KN specialists, for support, guidance, feedback
- Identify training/professional development needs of staff
- Monitor/adjust workload of staff
- Assist in accepting community & internal referrals
- Assist with home visits & follow up meetings
- Ensure support & advocacy for parents & caregivers
- Coordinate trainings for parents & caregivers
- Ensure that the requirements of the initial narrative process is followed by FP & KN specialists
- Approve client narratives, action plans, documentation completed by specialists
- Some travel to attend/present in-service training
- Attend trainings, court & required meetings
- Create community connections to increase program referrals; send newsletters, providing updates to community partners
- Contribute towards agency culture, cultural competency, performance improvement outcomes; participate in staff meetings, assist other program staff
- Analyze data to identify trends/directions for future advocacy efforts
- Participate in task forces, in-services, trainings, community networking opportunities promoting FAC’s programs, gaining partnerships & sponsorships
- Model ethical/professional behavior
- Participate in the agency’s efforts to assist families, maintain licensing/contract/COA standards for maximum effectiveness
Outcome Planning/Performance Quality & Improvement (PQI)
- Measurement & effectiveness of the program
- Lead a quality improvement process throughout the program, service areas in his/her purview, focusing on systems/process improvement & personnel growth
- Review client files for ongoing quality assurance
- Participate in client audit reviews; update as identified through the PQI process
- Evaluate & implement service improvement identified by FAC’s PQI process
Financial Management
- Oversee budget performance, ensuring fiscally sound operations
- Report on progress made & challenges to COO & CFO
- Complete reports
- Assist with grant planning, tracking & execution
- Participate in annual budget planning working with CFO & COO
Strategic Planning
- Provide input in strategic & operational planning, evaluation & positioning within FAC
- Assist with agenda, development & implementation of growth strategies for FAC
Qualifications & Preferred Skills
- BA/BS in social work, psychology, public administration, or human services field 3 years working in non-profit social services agencies management experience (2 years preferred)
- Previous child welfare experience required; 2 years preferred
- Previous experience working with at-risk populations
- Resourcefulness in setting priorities & creating efficiencies
- Outstanding organizational & planning skills
- Commitment to the principles of support & advocacy for relative & kinship families, personal experience or connection preferred
- Strong verbal & written communication skills
- Interpersonal skills, quickly establish rapport & build trust
- Flexible, self-starter; multi-tasker, detail-oriented, can meet deadlines
- Experience working with marginalized communities with a nuanced understanding of systemic oppressions
- Flexibility/adaptability to fit the needs of a wide range of cultures, people, organizations
