About the Role
In this position, you’ll work closely with cross-functional teams and senior leadership to support the development, acquisition, and financing of clean energy projects. From negotiating complex agreements to managing diligence for project funding, your legal expertise will directly support business growth and impact.
What You’ll Do
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide variety of commercial agreements, including NDAs, site leases, vendor contracts, power purchase agreements, EPC agreements, and related documentation.
- Modify existing contract templates and develop tailored solutions to meet project-specific needs.
- Proactively manage transactional workflows to reduce bottlenecks and ensure timely execution.
- Support the collection and organization of due diligence materials for both debt and equity underwriting.
- Monitor project funding progress and track post-close obligations.
- Contribute to internal risk management strategies and company-wide legal initiatives.
- Collaborate with company executives on special legal and strategic projects.
What We’re Looking For
- At least 3–4 years of experience in transactional law, ideally with a mix of real estate and finance exposure.
- Background in renewable energy or energy infrastructure transactions is highly desirable.
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to distill complex legal issues into business-minded solutions.
- Highly organized, self-motivated, and capable of managing multiple projects under tight timelines.
- JD from an ABA-accredited law school; strong academic credentials required.
- Active member of the Maryland Bar (in good standing).
- Prior in-house experience preferred.
Work Environment
This role is based in a professional office setting and involves regular use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and printers. The position includes interaction across all levels of the organization—including senior leadership, finance, development teams, and external stakeholders such as vendors and partners.
Salary : $160,000 - $195,000
