What are the responsibilities and job description for the Clinical Director position at Foundation 2 Crisis Services?
As the Clinical Director, you will be an integral part of the Foundation 2 Crisis Services Leadership team, leading to the success of our agency. The Clinical Director is responsible for overseeing the agency’s clinical operational strategy, as well as providing short-term counseling sessions for clients needing immediate support and connecting to long-term interventions, as needed. The Clinical Director, in collaboration with agency leadership will be responsible for ensuring high standards in client care and operational excellence.

- Starting Salary: $80,000/year commensurate on experience, licensure, certification, etc.

What you’ll do:
- Provide short-term counseling/therapy sessions to address immediate mental health concerns, stabilize and provide connection and linkage to long-term supports, approximately 2 days per week.
- Conduct crisis assessments, as needed.
- Work with area mental health providers to establish partnerships for long-term support of Foundation 2 clients
- Facilitate regularly scheduled case consultation with agency leadership and staff to provide clinical insight and feedback for further service delivery/intervention
- Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to review agency policy, procedure and practice to ensure standards for crisis care are met and the agency maintains adherence with best practice and accreditation standards
- Supervise and oversee contract clinicians who support clients in Crisis Stabilization Community-Based Services and other programs, as needed.
- Meaningfully participate in quality improvement and assurance processes
- Work in collaboration with agency leadership to ensure comprehensive training and continuing education for all staff to meet competencies required for service delivery
- Serve as the agency’s Mental Health Professional per Iowa Code; on-call for critical clinical needs and program support, as needed.
What you need:
- Master’s degree in a mental health field
- Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) or Psychologist
- 5 years’ post degree experience in assessing and providing mental health services; 2 years supervisory experience preferred
- Experience working in crisis services and/or trauma-informed environments
- Understanding of the Iowa Crisis, Juvenile Court and Health and Human Services systems preferred
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- Emotional stability and maturity and demonstrated capability to work with clients in crisis
- Strong leadership skills
- Comfort using computer software including Office 365, Microsoft Teams, Electronic Health Records, etc.
- Ability to work independently with minimal oversight and high ethical standards
- Ability to work in the Cedar Rapids office
- Pass all background checks completed by Foundation 2 Crisis Services.
