Job description
This position requires a strong commitment to supporting students with an IEP (Individualized Education Plan) to help them reach their full potential. The ideal candidate should have a passion for working with exceptional education students, excellent communication skills, and the ability to create a positive learning environment.
Responsibilities:
- Implement behavior management strategies to promote positive behaviors and minimize challenging behaviors.
- Collaborate with teachers and other specialists to read, understand and implement Individualized Education Plan (IEPs) for students with special needs.
- Provide differentiated instruction to address diverse learning styles and abilities.
- Collaborate with parents, teachers and support staff to create a supportive learning environment.
- Utilize creative teaching methods to engage and inspire students.
- Conduct assessments to monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies as needed.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom culture.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., education, psychology, behavioral health)
- Valid Teaching certification with ESE endorsement.
- Strong understanding of special education laws and regulations.
- Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with parents, teachers, and other professionals
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Experience in lesson planning and curriculum development is preferred.
- Must have empathy and patience in working with students with diverse needs.
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
- Ability to utilize high and low tech to support student learning and engagement.
Job Types: Full-Time, 12-Month Contract
Salary: $44,000.00 per year
