What are the responsibilities and job description for the Southeast Regional Manager position at Foundation for Jewish Camp?
The Southeast Regional Manager will strengthen and leverage partnerships with Southeast camps (day and overnight) and federations, implement and replicate successful initiatives, and engage with the wider community in raising awareness of FJC and Jewish camping. This managerial-level role requires a proactive leader with exceptional relationship-building skills and a strong commitment to contributing to FJC’s regional goals and strategic initiatives. This role merges on-the-ground relationships with a field perspective, elevating unique opportunities to support Jewish camps both individually and collectively. The Southeast Regional Manager will deepen FJC’s presence and expand our reach across the Southeast. This role will build on the success of the Southeast region, which was established in 2020, continuing current initiatives and expanding our work and impact in the area.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop meaningful relationships with leadership and the larger camp teams of overnight and day camps in the region; understand their opportunities, challenges, and needs to address specific regional issues effectively.
- Represent FJC with area camps and local organizations, community groups, and the philanthropic community with professionalism, expertise, and enthusiasm. Steward relationships with local federations and provide strategic guidance for elevating Jewish camp in their communities.
- Develop and implement regional initiatives, programs and grants for camps and camp professionals,. in alignment with FJC’s overall mission and strategy. Pilot and evaluate new programs as appropriate and recommend adjustments for broader learning implementation across the field.
- Assess the needs and opportunities to engage and support area camps and develop strategies, initiatives and/or programs to address solutions. Manage all aspects of these local projects, including program content, resource planning, budgeting, and program evaluation.
- Work collaboratively with local camps and community partners to achieve agreed-upon goals and priorities.
- Share learnings and program outcomes with the FJC team for potential replication in other regions. Leverage programs piloted in other areas to enhance the Southeast region’s offerings.
- Provide logistical support and coordination for regional activities, including maintaining communication with camps and partners, and managing local office operations if required.
- Additional responsibilities, as determined by your manager and/or current FJC programmatic and/or grant needs. Regional roles often manage and/or partner with other FJC professionals and departments to support one or two national programs or initiatives.

- Ability to manage multiple and complex relationships with varied constituencies including area camps, foundations and community organizations.
- Can effectively operate independently and remotely from the head office of FJC; ability to travel as required.
CREDENTIALS & EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of 5-8 years of work experience required.
- Bachelor's degree and/or significant experience in the field of Jewish Camp or within a Jewish communal organization preferred.
- A deep belief in our mission and a passion for Jewish camp.
- Prior program budget and grant management experience required.
- Proven track record of successful contribution to organizational fundraising efforts required.
- Tech-savvy with collaborative tech tools. Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, Salesforce, Asana, and FormAssembly and/or Alchemer a plus.
- Expertise with group training, facilitation, and/or experiential Jewish education preferred.
