Originally built in 1927, the Carolina Theatre located in the Belk Place civic campus in Uptown Charlotte, is being lovingly restored by Foundation For The Carolinas to its original splendor and will soon serve as a dynamic civic hub. Scheduled to open in 2025, the classic movie house will feature a mix of performances, films, speakers, and opportunities for civic and community engagement.
The Digital Communications Specialist is responsible for executing all digital marketing elements, including, but not limited to, email, display advertising, graphic design, and social media marketing. The specialist stays up to date on news and trends in digital marketing, has a passion for graphic design, and can multitask with competing deadlines.

Your Daily Responsibilities Will Include
- Creating and designing all printed and digital communication and marketing materials with FFTC coordination
- Assisting in the development of Carolina Theatre’s social media strategy and implementing plans across all platforms
- Editing and posting of Carolina Theatre’s website, Facebook, Instagram, and other social and digital communications channels, including designing all visual elements
- Monitoring and engaging on social media and other platforms
- Maximizing search engine optimization for Carolina Theatre website
- Ensuring all digital displays are up to date.
- Designing all in-house digital advertisements, announcements, and promotions.Working with Box Office manager for on-sale announcements, ticketing website cohesion, calendar listings, and all external information about the venue
- Managing all email marketing campaigns through our email marketing system
- Facilitating street marketing efforts
- Nightly event support
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite is required.
- Knowledge of SEO strategies and tactics is essential.
- Experience with website content management systems, such as WordPress, and social media management tools, such as Sprout Social, is important.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills are necessary.
- Experience with Ticketmaster is preferred.
- Ability to create content for social media platforms, including video, is required.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as part of a team rotation schedule is essential.
$26/hr depending on experience
