What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sitter Services position at Foundations for Life Principles?
Foundations for Life Principles is looking to hire exceptional individuals who have a desire to work with families, youth and children. We are currently seeking to hire individuals to work with us in Sitter Services. Our sitters are responsible for monitoring youth in the custody of the Department of Children's Service in different transitional facilities throughout Sevier, Hamblen, Cocke, Jefferson, and Blount counties. Day, Night, and weekend shifts are available.
Job Description:
- Monitoring youth through activity, presence, etc. while also making safety a top priority. Always staying alert and attentive to the child's needs, and never leaving a child by themselves.
- Treating the youth with kindness, dignity, and respect at all times. Making them feel safe and cared for.
- Performing light housekeeping duties such as: laundry, dishes, meal prep, etc.
- Being a role model for the youth by using language, body language, and gestures that are appropriate.
- Complying with all rules and regulations set forth by DCS, Foundations for Life Principles, and all transitional facilities.
- Assisting in de-escalation situations.
Job Requirements;
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Must possess a valid driver's license and have a reliable means of transportation
- Must be willing to travel to any of the transitional facilities available in the following counties: Sevier, Hamblen, Jefferson, Cocke, and Blount
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening
- High School Diploma
Salary:
- Starting pay is $15/hour
- On-call pay is an extra $2.50 per hour when available, and only for on call shifts.
