Job Summary
TMC Bonham Hospital is a 25-bed critical access hospital offering inpatient and outpatient services, as well as 24-hour emergency services. Our goal is to deliver quality healthcare and ensure patient safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform pre-admission and admission services for ER patients, covering various hospital areas
- Maintain accurate patient information within the Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
- Collect financial information, including payments from patients/guarantors
- Obtain insurance information, verify benefits, and secure authorizations for services
- Calculate insurance company co-payments, deductibles, and collect financial responsibility due from patients at admission or discharge
- Obtain medical and financial consents, securing proper signatures on required documents
- Provide information to patients regarding their Patient Rights, Privacy, and Advance Care Directives
Qualifications
- Reading and numerical competency, with some college preferred
- Minimum of 6 months general public contact in person or by phone, preferably in a healthcare setting or healthcare insurance setting
- Able to handle detail work accurately and rapidly, interact with coworkers and other departments, possess good listening, verbal, and written communication skills
- Ability to manage high-stress situations and basic computer/internet experience
