What are the responsibilities and job description for the Center Director for Early Childhood Learning position at Foundations Success Academy?
Foundations Success Academy is dedicated to providing a nurturing, high-quality learning environment for young children. We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Director to lead our childcare center with strong administrative abilities, leadership skills, and a passion for early childhood education. This is an immediate opening, as the Executive Director will transition to remote work after the new Director is trained.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily operations of the childcare center, ensuring compliance with licensing and accreditation standards.
- Effectively draft and distribute communications to staff and parents in a timely and professional manner.
- Develop, implement, and revise lesson plans in alignment with our Reggio Emilia-inspired curriculum.
- Utilize technology efficiently, including Microsoft Office and child care management software, to streamline administrative tasks.
- Provide strong leadership, mentoring, and support to staff while holding them accountable for their responsibilities.
- Foster a collaborative and positive work environment.
- Communicate effectively with families, addressing concerns and building strong relationships.
- Maintain accurate records, including staff documentation, enrollment records, and licensing compliance paperwork.
Qualifications:
MUST HAVE A MINIMUM OF 3 INFANT UNITS AL0NG WITH THE FOLLOWING.
High School Graduate or GED, 12 core semester units early childhood education/development, 3 semester units in Administration or Staff Relations, 4 years teaching experience in a supervised group child care center
OR
AA degree in child development, 3 units Administration, and 2 years teaching experience
OR
BA degree in child development, 3 units Administration and 1 year teaching experience
OR
Child Development Site Supervisor Permit or Program Director Permit
* Foundations Success Academy requires all Site Supervisors, Administrative Staff, and Directors to complete Preventative health and safety training.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Minimum of three years of experience in a childcare leadership role.
- Strong administrative skills, including the ability to draft professional communications and reports.
- Proficiency in using technology, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and childcare management software.
- Highly organized with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently.
- Exceptional leadership and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative in decision-making.
- A passion for early childhood education and commitment to high-quality care.
- Ability to train and mentor staff effectively.
- Experience in staff development and performance management.
- Strong understanding of childcare licensing regulations and compliance.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 32 per week
