Engineer I – Maintenance
$16 - $18 per hour, commensurate with experience.
OVERVIEW
We are currently seeking a dedicated and reliable individual for a full-time position. The ideal candidate must be available to work both weekends and weekdays, from 3:30 PM to 11:30 PM.
As an Engineer I, you will primarily focus on completing Preventative Maintenance work in all rooms/areas, with responsibilities encompassing repairs and maintenance in areas but not limited to wallpaper, paint, grout and tile, and plumbing. Working closely with the Engineer Supervisor and/or Chief Engineer, you will plan and execute Preventative Maintenance tasks for all guest rooms in alignment with the Annual Task Schedule and Hilton/Brand standards.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Know your job, property standards, and tasks; apply experience and training effectively.
- Be punctual, follow attendance guidelines, and adhere to clock-in/out procedures.
- Present a friendly, approachable demeanor, following property personal appearance standards.
- Conduct yourself professionally with Guests and fellow Associates.
- Work smart, understanding shift needs, using resources efficiently, and paying attention to details.
- Use approved tools and checklists for assigned tasks.
- Produce work meeting department standards in volume and quality.
- Keep work area clean and organized.
- Report any unsafe conditions promptly to your supervisor.
SPECIFIC ENGINEER II DUTIES
- Respond to and handle guest requests courteously and efficiently.
- Perform preventive maintenance and necessary repairs on all hotel equipment.
- Respond to emergency situations and conduct property rounds.
- Clean and maintain equipment and work areas.
- Document all parts used and needed purchases.
- Handle elevator breakdowns.
- Report on unsafe conditions for the Chief of Engineering.
ASSOCIATE RESPONSIBILITIES SPECIFIC FOR THIS ROLE AND DEPARTMENT
- Provide general "handyman" skills.
- Make necessary room and public area repairs to meet standard conditions.
- Coordinate and complete PM maintenance on all rooms, areas, and equipment.
- Utilize the comprehensive Unit PM Checklist for repairs.
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on major equipment.
QUALIFICATIONS
·Two years of prior experience in building maintenance or a related industry.
·Professional tradesmen certification in at least one discipline (electrician, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, etc.) preferred.
·Demonstrated positive attitude and work ethic practices.
·Ability to multi-task and stay organized within specific time frames.
·High School diploma required; special courses in building maintenance and construction are beneficial.
