Duties and Responsibilities:
Ensure that all members and guests are greeted and welcomed in a professional and courteous manner.
Answers questions and provides assistance and information to customers.
Answers telephone to schedule future starting times and communicate information in a pleasant and professional manner.
Accurately operates the point-of-sale system, verify the accuracy of prices of state and federal taxes and other changes on all sales tickets. Collects green fees and cart fees.
Assist in the development of standards and maintain responsibility for cleanliness and appearance of golf shop storage areas and merchandise displays.
Trains and mentors new employees.
Assists GM/HP in monitoring and finalizing payroll each pay period.
Responsible for inputting invoices into the invoicing system for golf operations and G&A purchases.
Works closely with GM/HP for booking and administering tournaments and large group play.
Professionally communicate information, sell merchandise, and become fully knowledgeable in all products and sales techniques.
Ensure that the displays are always kept at par stock inventory levels, and that the appearance of the display meets or exceeds company standards.
Responsible for managing, opening, closing, and securing golf shop and storage areas using established procedures.
Assists GM/HP in procuring supplies for the facility.
Maintain purchase order system, ordering, and receiving program, to ensure proper quantity and prices are in place.
Maintain a high profile with membership and guests to promote the service philosophy of FGI.
Maintain golf shop revenue generated though golf shop sales.
Maintain the golf clubs handicap system.
Commit to being a leader in customer service by utilizing the principles and benefits outlined in the SCORE customer service program.
Safety Responsibilities and Requirements:
Actively demonstrate, encourage, and model safety rules and guidelines in accordance with state and federal law.
Report safety or hazard concerns and any workplace injury to management immediately.
Take personal responsibility for safety every day.
Qualification-Requirements Experience - Education
Good organizational, written, and verbal skills.
Ability to use logic and rational thinking to solve problems.
Ability to perform math calculations.
Ability to effectively monitor and develop subordinates.
Must have thorough knowledge of general business practices including college level study or equivalent experience.
Registered PGA apprentice or current PGA member in good standing preferred.
Must have knowledge in professional golf operations practices and procedures.
First aid certification is required within 1 year of start date.
Ability to perform moderate physical work, must be able to lift to 60 lbs occasionally, up to 45 lbs, frequently, and up to 25lbs regularly.
Ability to perform activities that require bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, climbing, reaching, and standing for up to 5 hours without sitting.
