Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Generator Technician to join our team. This role involves maintaining repairing, and troubleshooting generators used in various applications. The technician will primarily work during regular business hours but must be available during weekends and on call for emergency disaster situations.
The ideal candidate should have a strong background (minimum of 3 years experience) in repairing and diagnosing both gas and electric generators.
Responsibilities:
- Perform preventative maintenance and repair tasks on generators.
- Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues with generators.
- Conduct load bank testing and performance evaluations.
- Use advanced diagnostic tools and equipment to accurately identify and troubleshoot generators.
- Replace parts and components as necessary.
- Document maintenance and repair work for record-keeping purposes. (Must be able to operate tablet/iPad)
- Respond promptly to emergency calls outside of regular business hours.
- Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Communicate effectively with customers to explain repair procedures and assist in providing accurate estimates.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Generator Technician.
- Knowledge of diesel and gas powered generators.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Familiarity with electrical and mechanical troubleshooting techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and diagrams.
- Clean driving record and valid drivers license required to operate company vehicles.
Work Hours:
- Job hours are from 8 am to 5 pm Monday through Friday.
- On-call availability for weekends and disaster situations as needed.
