Are you passionate about community, creativity, and customer service? Pure Albion, a vibrant and locally focused retail gift shop in the heart of Downtown Albion, is looking for a friendly and self-motivated Retail Sales Associate to join our team.

At Pure Albion, we celebrate the spirit of Albion through locally inspired gifts, community-focused merchandise, and products from area artisans and vendors. We’re proud to be a destination for Albion College students, alumni, locals, and visitors who want to take a piece of Albion home with them.

About the Role

As a Sales Associate, you are often the first point of contact for customers—welcoming them into the store, sharing your knowledge of the community, and helping them find items that celebrate their connection to Albion. We’re looking for someone who is friendly, confident, and excited to share what makes Albion special.

In addition to traditional retail duties, this position offers opportunities for creative involvement in areas like:

• Screenprinting and product production – including hands-on work with apparel design
• Social media marketing – contributing content ideas, photos, or videos
• Graphic design – creating signage or product artwork

Key Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service: greet every guest, assist with product selection, and offer knowledgeable recommendations
• Share stories behind products, artists, and Albion College or community connections
• Maintain an inviting and tidy store environment: folding, restocking, dusting, light cleaning
• Operate the Shopify POS system accurately for all transactions
• Support inventory tasks: tagging new items, restocking, and maintaining displays
• Note customer product suggestions or feedback for management
• Participate in in-store product creation and design processes (screenprinting or vinyl, if interested)
• Assist with or create content for our social media platforms (optional but encouraged)
• Communicate availability clearly via our scheduling app (Homebase) and help cover shifts when needed
• Be available for key retail days like Albion College Homecoming, Commencement, Festival of the Forks, Small Business Saturday, and holiday shopping dates

• Capable of working independently and solving problems on the spot
• Open to learning new skills, including screenprinting or content creation

Bonus Points If You Have:

• Experience with social media content creation (Instagram, TikTok, Facebook)
• Interest in graphic design or creating visual content
• Previous exposure to screenprinting, vinyl work, or product customization

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $12.50 - $14.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10 – 20 per week
