Fountain Valley School is a co-ed, college-preparatory boarding / day school enrolling 245 students in grades 9-12. Founded in 1930, the School provides a rigorous, global curriculum in academics, arts, athletics and the outdoors in a diverse community to develop young adults who are courageous, open-minded, self-reliant, curious, and compassionate. This is a part-time, seasonal position reporting directly to the Director Athletics.
Position Summary
The assistant coach is responsible for collaborating with head coach with planning, leading, and directing the boys volleyball program. They will be expected to follow the rules and regulations of FVS and CHSAA. This includes attending practices Monday through Friday from 3 : 30-5 : 00 pm and games throughout the week, including most Saturdays. The assistant coach must complete the assigned coaching course and concussion course regulated by CHSAA prior to the start of the season. The season runs from Mid February - Late May with additional dates for post-season play.
General Duties :
- Teach fundamental Volleyball skills.
- Collaborate with other coaches to plan logistics for practices and competitions
- Provide individualized technique coaching for a range of abilities.
- Attend all season competitions.
