Description
Provides a minimum of 8 hours RN supervision per day, completes a Supervisor report for the Director of Nursing that addresses any area and issues that have occurred during the shift.
Has the authority and accountability to staff each pavilion based on resident care needs and available staff. Uses established Pull Best Practice to ensure fairness for all CNA/LPN staff.
Reviews 24-hour summary on each pavilion as soon as staffing is situated.
Assists with feeding on West Pavilion as needed and or assures that there is sufficient staff for feeding residents.
Acts as facilitator with pavilion team to assist in problem solving such as staffing, resident care, etc.
Addresses all safety issues in a timely manner; utilizes management resources when necessary to correct building and equipment problems.
Performs safety rounds to identify any issues, unsafe practices that can affect residents and or staff.
Checks and documents refrigerator temperatures for all med rooms, program refrigerators. Makes any temperature adjustments as needed.
Attends Nursing and General orientation and all required dementia classes within 6 months of employment; uses educational materials to coach staff for appropriate resident care.
Acts as instructor for Evening in-services.
Becomes familiar with the Fountainview Center’s mission, philosophy and standards and utilizes these to discipline and coach staff.
Tours families who may come to facility in the evening, gives Inquiry packet and leaves name/number for Director of Admissions to follow up.
Addresses problems/concerns about other department staff directly with the appropriate department head.
Contacts RN/LPN on call for any clinical or staffing issue that cannot be resolved which needs immediate action.
Works with families to resolve concerns /grievances or writes up concerns/grievances so that the appropriate department head can address these.
Qualifications
Demonstrated excellent clinical assessment/intervention skills.
Ability to function as coach within clinical setting.
Ability to form good relationships with families and to address their concerns in a timely manner.
RN licensed in the state of Georgia.
Minimum 2 years in supervisory/management experience
Preference given to individual knowledgeable of long term care and regulations/standards.
Demonstrates good judgment for addressing staffing issues, care concerns
