Introduction:

Four Corners Welding & Gas Supply is one of the largest regional independently owned and operated Welding, Industrial, Specialty, and Medical Gases distributors in the Southwestern U.S., with locations in Gallup and Milan, (NM) Cortez and Durango, (CO). This document outlines the role, responsibilities, and expectations of the Store Manager at Four Corners Welding & Gas Supply.

Role Overview:

The Store Manager plays a pivotal role in creating a positive customer experience and driving the store’s operational success. This role involves managing sales, profitability, inventory, and staff to effectively achieve the company’s goals.

• Manage store operations, including inventory management, shrinkage control, expense management, and payroll administration, to optimize profitability.
• Maintain optimal stock levels and ensure that company standards are met on the sales floor.
• Collaborate with other managers to ensure accurate pricing, meet inventory needs, and optimize overall store efficiency.
• Uphold company policies and conduct regular staff meetings, store audits, and evaluations.
• Address performance issues, manage staff training, and ensure all team members are versed in company safety protocols.
• Handle financial duties including managing cash flow, overseeing petty cash, and preparing deposits.
• Maintain the store’s physical condition to company standards and ensure a safe and clean environment for staff and customers.
• Stay updated on product knowledge and industry trends by participating in educational opportunities.
• Assist in A/R collections and manage customer information in coordination with the Accounting Department.
• Produce regular reports for management and participate in team efforts to meet store goals.

Skills & Qualifications:

• Proven experience in sales and store management, ideally in welding and gas supply.
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to engage with diverse clientele.
• Knowledge of general sales, negotiation, and pricing.
• Proficiency in basic computer skills, including MS Office.
• Ability to maintain high safety standards and identify safety hazards.
• Strong organizational skills with the capacity to operate independently.

Supervisory Responsibility:

This position entails direct leadership and management of all store staff.

Physical Demands:

Requires standing, sitting, walking, bending, stooping, twisting, squatting, pushing, pulling, reaching above shoulders, gripping, reach with hands and arms, carrying, climb up and down stairs. Use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, and keyboarding. Visual abilities, near and far vision, depth perception. Must be able to lift and/or carry up to 50 lbs. Exposure to dust, loud noise in some areas of the facility, adverse environmental conditions, outdoor, yard, warehouse, industrial cylinder room, hazardous material.

Work Hours/Salary

This full-time position requires a commitment to work from Monday to Friday, 7:00 am - 5:30 pm, with rotational Saturdays from 8:00 am - 2:00 pm. Annual Salary Range, $45K-$55K
