Job summary
Our bartender/servers are responsible for delivering remarkable hospitality through the food and drinks they serve and the interactions they have with every guest. Bartender/servers are typically the only server on shift, balancing bartending, waiting on tables and helping in the kitchen as needed. Bartender/servers play a critical role in maintaining a clean, safe and compliant food safety environment at all times, and are essential to identifying and resolving guest issues before guests check out so we can ensure every guest leaves satisfied.

Job responsibilities
- Work as the only “front of house” employee in the restaurant most days, handling all aspects of delivering a seamless guest experience.
- Follow proper financial and cash-handling procedures as outlined during training.
- Assist with food preparation and setup as directed and trained, and tear down and clean all assigned areas at the end of each shift.
- Quickly clean vacated tables so they’re ready for other guests, and maintain clean bar, buffet and beverage areas at all times.
- Adhere to all food safety protocols communicated during training, through written procedures, and through third party training.
- Complete and follow alcohol training as directed or required by government regulations, franchisors, and hotel management.
- Complete food, refrigerator and freezer temperature logs in accordance with local health department regulations.
- Accept and put away deliveries, check off delivery documents to identify and document any delivery errors, and rotate product so that the oldest product is used first.
- Complete food and beverage inventory as directed by management.
- Actively ask guests about any issues they’ve encountered during their stay and initiate problem resolution procedures if any defect is discovered.
- Complete and retain training as directed by managers/trainers, including food safety training, brand training, company training and in-person instruction. Note taking is encouraged.
- Communicate and collaborate with other hotel departments including housekeeping and maintenance to ensure a seamless guest experience.
- Attend mandatory company meetings and trainings as directed by hotel management.
- Handle other tasks and responsibilities as needed/directed by hotel management.
- Handle cook responsibilities as needed/directed by hotel management.
Qualifications
- A positive attitude and a commitment to working as part of a small team.
- Passionate about delivering excellent guest service in every guest interaction.
- Committed to vigorously following food safety protocols and procedures.
- Competence as both a restaurant server and bartender. Previous foodservice/bartending experience is a benefit but not required.
- Comfortable working as the only food and beverage server during most shifts.
- Able to consistently arrive at work on time and fully complete scheduled shifts to avoid creating extra unexpected work for other team members.
- Flexible schedule – able to work weekdays, weekends, and holidays (weekend/holiday availability required). Changes in schedule availability from what was discussed during the hiring process may result in a reduction of scheduled shifts.
- Ability to multitask and handle multiple responsibilities at once.
- Excellent communication skills (important both for guests and internal collaboration).
- Able to handle stressful situations and solve problems in a calm, professional manner.
- Physically able to perform all responsibilities including but not limited to standing for an entire shift, bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Able to successfully pass a drug test and background check.
