What are the responsibilities and job description for the Occupational Therapist position at FOUR RAVENS OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY LLC?
Job Description Four Ravens Occupational Therapy LLC—Occupational Therapist or OTA
Description
This full time, year-round occupational therapist position is based in beautiful Juneau with potential for periodic travel/outreach to other remote Southeast Alaska communities as assigned, to be combined with telemedicine in between onsite visits for remote clients. Our unique hybrid model of onsite and telemedicine services has proven successful since 2018 for pediatric and adult populations throughout Southeast Alaska. Individuals seeking this position require a high level of commitment to the philosophical foundation of the profession and the ability to demonstrate understanding of positionality and cultural factors that influence occupation and wellness. Coordination with other community-based agencies and case management tasks beyond a typical OT position is both expected and encouraged. Duties are primarily self-directed with support from existing team and include but are not limited to:
· frequent family support/consultations via email, text and care conferences
· design and fabrication of client-centered specialized adaptive equipment and upper extremity splints
· attendance at IEP or Care Coordination meetings for caseload patients when requested and reporting to care coordination agencies in advocacy of additional community services where indicated
· intervention in home and community settings where indicated
· fluency with telemedicine service provision using Fusion and/or Zoom and GoToMeeting following mentorship period
· trainings and in-services for local agencies (daycare, school districts, care providers, community partners) with a strong focus toward mental health outcomes.
Given the high level of expectation for community supports and collaboration, productivity expectations are much lower than industry standard at 65% billable hours. Our therapists manage their own schedule unless they request support from main office, allowing for flexibility. Due to the high number of pediatric patients it is ideal to run a clinic day on Saturdays to reduce school schedule disruptions, accommodate working parents and improve outcomes.
Travel assignments include $50 per diem allowance and paid time for weather related cancellations. Pay is dependent on timely completion of documentation. Annual payment of AOTA and AkOTA dues offered by employer as well as Rural Health Stipend toward health insurance or student loan repayment and Continuing Education allowance. Starting pay for OT $50/hour, OTA $30/hour, dependent on experience.
