Position Overview
Under general supervision, performs Nuclear Materials Control & Accountability job functions as assigned by management. Typical job responsibilities include assisting and supporting management in ensuring proper control, tracking, inventory verification and movement of assigned nuclear material in compliance with all applicable statutory and regulatory requirements, Four Rivers Nuclear Partnership policies and procedures, and managerial direction.
Duties
The specific work assignment may include duties or activities that assist and support management in one or more of the following functional areas, in addition to other duties as assigned:
Work in an office at a normal environmental restoration atmosphere (outdated and/or abandoned facilities or industrial field environments). May also work at off-project sites representing the organization at various types of locations throughout the community for business purposes. Potential exposure to equipment movement hazards, dangerous chemicals/solvents or hazardous and radioactive materials if proper safety procedures are not followed.
Ability to perform sedentary to light work, exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally (any exertion of force/lifting greater than 45 pounds requires usage of a two person "buddy system"), non-repetitive, up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly, repetitive; performing such activities as lifting, lowering, carrying, pushing, pulling, standing, walking, grasping, kneeling, stooping, reaching.
Ability to perform primary office duties including heavy computer usage.

Duties
The specific work assignment may include duties or activities that assist and support management in one or more of the following functional areas, in addition to other duties as assigned:
- Perform field inspections to ensure proper MC&A compliance
- Monitor to ensure SNM is located in in approved areas (MBAs)
- Conduct Item Monitoring twice yearly
- Verify accountable waste containers are marked with accountability stickers
- Verify accountable SNM has been reported to MC&A and documented in LANMAS
- Perform location verifications of SNM material in the accounting system compared to actual physical locations
- Walk down waste storage areas to monitor compliance with DOE Order 474.2A
- Create Self-Assessments/Performance testing schedule annually
- Serve as MC&A JTAG representative
- Perform self-assessments as assigned by management
- Review MC&A related procedures, TI, and other documents for field compliance with MC&A requirements
- Perform periodic reviews of MC&A procedures, programs and the plan
- Assist the MC&A manager and SMEs of MC&A documents with the revision process
- Provide assistance to manager or SME when new MC&A programs, plans or procedures are required
- Act as the Training Coordinator and point of contact for NTC
- Act as Lead Assessment Coordinator
- Conduct classroom training for MBA custodians and NM handlers
- Oversee MC&A documents in the review/concurrence process
- Submit official correspondence to PPPO
- Prepare and update MC&A training modules
- Act as Measurment Control Coordinator
- Maintain list of MC&A approved scales
- Oversee confirmatory measurements performed during physical inventory
- Coordinate/approved new measurement methods
- Other duties as assigned by management
- Associates Degree or 5 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Typical experience ranges from 6 - 9 years.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Knowledge of, and experience with, nuclear facility operations
- 9 years experience with DOE nuclear facility safety
- Attention to detail
- Strong PC skills including Microsoft software
- DOE "L" or "Q" clearance
- 3 years experience in property/inventory management
- 8 years experience in official correspondence to PPPO
- Rad I and II Worker Training
