Summer Ice Cream Scooper

Want a legendary Cape Cod summer work experience? Four Seas Ice Cream, the oldest ice cream shop on Cape Cod, is looking for an awesome team of summer workers.

Don’t worry if you don’t have experience working in an ice cream shop or restaurant. We can train you. We are looking for people our customers will love, who will be a pleasure to work alongside, and who care about becoming very good at their job. If you’re hardworking, outgoing, smart, reliable, kind, and friendly, and you work well under pressure, we’d love to hear from you.

You’ll do well here if…

• You love to make people smile.
• You don’t think the above bullet point is cheesy.
• You’re the kind of person who can talk to anyone (and you enjoy doing so).
• You would rather be busy, even if you’re CRAZY busy, than just sit around.
• You genuinely like ice cream!
• You understand that the job is more than just scooping ice cream… everyone will also spend time cleaning the shop, washing dishes, emptying trash cans, etc.

This won’t be the best fit if…

• You hate getting messy.
• You can’t imagine not checking your phone during a shift.
• You are not available on weekends or over the July 4 holiday.
• You do not have reliable transportation to our shop in Centerville.

Typical duties will include:

• Taking counter orders from customers.
• Waiting on customers at tables.
• Making and serving cones and cups of ice cream, sundaes, frappes, and ice cream sodas.
• Assisting with inventory, restocking, sandwich preparation, ice cream making/packaging, and assembling wholesale orders.
• Fulfilling online orders for Four Seas merch.
• Keeping our shop and grounds clean and organized.
• Jumping in to help wherever you’re needed.

Other things we need to mention:

• You must be able to lift at least 25 pounds.
• Many menu items contain nuts or gluten; most contain dairy. Workers will directly handle all of them.
• If you are under 18, you must be able to work as late as Massachusetts law allows (see https://www.mass.gov/info-details/massachusetts-laws-regulating-minors-work-hours).
• Base pay starts at $13/hour plus tips.

We understand your ultimate career goals might not involve scooping ice cream, but by working with us, you’ll learn skills (providing great customer service, working quickly and accurately under pressure, working with a team, prioritizing tasks, etc.) that you can use in just about any job.
