Pay: $39.86/hr. $10.79/hr. fringe benefit ($8.04 Health & Welfare / $2.75 401k contribution)
Hours: Tuesday to Friday: 5:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m
- Shift Differential: 4% (2nd shift) or 6% (3rd shift) differential pay only if the majority of hours worked fall within the shift differential window
- Must be willing to carry a cell phone and be on call 24 hours per day, 365 days per year.

Job Description:
- The Electronics Technician Maintenance III (Sterilizer Technician) applies advanced technical knowledge to solve complex problems that typically cannot be solved solely by referencing manufacturers’ manuals or similar documents. Examples of such problems include determining the location and density of circuitry, evaluating electromagnetic radiation, isolating malfunctions, and incorporating engineering, changes. Work typically requires an understanding of the interrelationships of circuits, exercising independent judgment in performing such tasks as making circuit analyses, calculating wave forms, and tracing relationships in signal flow, using complex test instruments such as high frequency pulse generators, frequency synthesizers, distortion analyzers, and complex computer control equipment. Work may be reviewed by supervisor for general compliance with accepted practices. This position may provide technical guidance to lower-level technicians.
- This position may provide technical guidance and directing the electrical staff.
- Much of the day will be spent overseeing and assisting in preventive maintenance tasks and work requests being performed by electricians and sterilizer technicians, seeing that their work tasks are completed in a timely manner. The jobsite consists of laboratory buildings, office buildings, central utilities plant and a maintenance shop.
- Assists Building Coordinators and Campus Manager in planning and implementing work projects and work methods.
- Estimates time and materials required for proposed jobs; keeps records and submits requisition forms for supplies and materials.
- Determines manpower needs for maintenance repairs and assigns work accordingly.
Abilities/Skills/Knowledge Required by Position:
- Troubleshooting, diagnostic repair and maintenance of steam supplied sterilization equipment used in a laboratory environment. Including rack washers, tunnel washers, autoclaves, necropsy room specialties, etc. Applicant must have familiarity with knowledge of sterilization systems including theory and principle, PLC based controls and good understanding of how controls work. Experienced at repairing temperature and pressure controls, electro-mechanical control systems, electronics, steam specialties, pneumatic and plumbing on sterilization equipment working from blueprints, drawings, layouts or other specifications using a variety of electronic tools and measuring and testing instruments. This job provides no on the job training, so the successful applicant must come with the required knowledge.
- Knowledge of troubleshooting and repairing electrical systems including control systems.
- Knowledge of preventive maintenance procedures and techniques.
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions and work with a minimum of technical supervision.
