Description
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the general upkeep and maintenance of both Four Seasons' buildings and grounds. The ideal candidate will ensure the gym operates at peak efficiency by maintaining equipment, facilities, and grounds. This role is crucial in providing a safe and enjoyable workout environment to members. The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and proactive in addressing maintenance needs.
Facility Maintenance:
- Perform routine inspections of the gym, locker rooms, restrooms, and common areas to identify maintenance issues.
- Repair and maintain lighting, plumbing, HVAC systems, pool mechanics, and general building infrastructure.
- Conduct preventative maintenance to minimize downtime and ensure safety.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests from staff and management and collaborate with management to prioritize tasks.
Equipment Maintenance:
- Regularly inspect and service gym equipment (treadmills, weight machines, etc.) to ensure functionality and safety.
- Troubleshoot and repair faulty fitness equipment or coordinate repairs with vendors as needed.
- Keep accurate records of maintenance schedules and completed repairs.
Grounds and Lawncare:
- Assist with exterior landscaping including mowing, edging, trimming, etc. at both facilities.
- May collaborate with vendors on parking lot and exterior maintenance.
- Facilitate winter weather preparation including salting sidewalks.
Health & Safety Compliance:
- Identify and address potential hazards to prevent accidents or injuries.
- Utilize proper safety precautions needed to perform required daily tasks.
- Maintain and organize maintenance areas and materials in a professional manner.
- Ability to organize, prioritize, and meet deadlines and or goals in a timely manner.
General Duties:
- Assist with minor carpentry, painting, and repairs.
- Manage inventory of tools and supplies and request orders when needed.
- Ability to act quickly in a fast paced, ever-changing environment.
- May be asked to complete other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Previous experience in facility maintenance, general repairs, or a related field preferred.
- Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and HVAC systems.
- Experience with fitness equipment repair is a plus.
- Experience working with commercial pools in a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
- Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks as needed in a safe manner.
- Available for occasional on-call emergencies.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- High School diploma or equivalent required; additional education preferred.

- Ability to freely access all areas of the facilities including the second floor and basement.
- Able to lift, push or roll heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) using proper body mechanics and safety protocol.

Working Environment: Functions regularly within exercise, recreation, and office settings, using cleaning and maintenance equipment. Is regularly exposed to smells of swimming pools, exercise areas, chemicals and other cleaning supplies. Is occasionally exposed to bodily fluids or demanding physical exertion during emergency response situations; risks are minimized by adherence to established safety procedures. Frequently work varying hours and days.
