PURPOSE :

The Jewish Board’s Community Behavioral Health treatment programs provide compassionate, high quality, evidence-based services to individuals and families in the communities we serve. Our staff use a culturally competent, person-centered approach to help individuals and their families develop skills and resources to improve overall functioning, to instill hope, and to strengthen resiliency. Our programs work closely with community partners to address health disparities in our neighborhoods while also celebrating the strengths and resilience of our communities.

POSITION OVERVIEW :

The Senior Director is a member of the Community Behavioral Health leadership team and is primarily responsible for all clinical and operational activities for the MHOTRS clinic under the CCBHC umbrella. The Senior Director implements and reviews policies and the operating structure of the clinic, makes recommendations for improvements, and monitors staff performance to ensure that the expectations and needs of clients are met. Sets standards and guidelines for client interactions. In addition, the Senior Director analyzes operations of the clinic site and oversees any efficiency improvements. With CBH leadership, the Senior Director creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the clinic and develops budgets / policies / procedures to support optimal functioning of the clinic site.

The Senior Director cultivates and maintains relationships with City, State, and other regulatory bodies, as well as payers, such as Managed Care, and with community organizations and partners. The Senior Director supports and implements the agency’s new initiatives and projects, including continuous quality improvement and clinical outcomes.

KEY ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :

  • The Senior Director is responsible for optimizing all MHOTRS clinic and CCBHC activities and the supervision, oversight, and development of the clinic team to ensure we provide a great client experience every time and ensure each client gets quality care.
  • Ensures overall clinical, operational, and fiscal oversight for assigned programs.
  • Assists programs in utilizing established, effective interventions to achieve defined, meaningful outcomes.
  • Provides leadership and vision to assist programs in achieving goals, continually improving performance and meeting challenges proactively and effectively.
  • Ensures that programmatic systems are in place to meet all client safety and service needs.
  • Ensures that physical facilities / sites meet appropriate safety and aesthetic standards.
  • Ensures appropriate training and supervision is provided to all staff; develops and provides training.
  • Responds to opportunities to expand services; prepares RFPs, PARs, and grant applications.
  • Develops and implements new programs, projects, and initiatives.
  • Ensures relationships with partners and community representatives / groups are established and maintained.
  • Ensures compliance with internal and external policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Ensures development and adherence to program budgets and maintains programs’ fiscal viability.
  • Collaborates with directors and other JB programs / departments to solve problems and issues.
  • Utilizes data to inform planning, service delivery, and overall management.
  • Participates in agency and external committees, coalitions, and initiatives.
  • Available and on-call to assist in managing and responding to urgent situations.
  • Performs other duties, as assigned.
  • Personnel :

  • Responsible for ensuring appropriate staffing to support client needs, including monitoring staff attendance and vacation scheduling.
  • Timely completion of performance appraisals and appropriately addressing performance concerns.
  • Conducting or participating in staff training or coaching.
  • CORE COMPETENCIES for the position include :

  • Experience managing leaders / supervisors and staff.
  • Previous experience in the healthcare field preferred.

  • Superior problem-solving skills.
  • EDUCATIONAL / EXPERIENCE REQUIRED :

  • Master’s degree in related field, LCSW preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience as a director of a large clinical program.
  • COMPUTER SKILLS REQUIRED :

  • Experience working with electronic medical records.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook); comfortable and proficient using audio video platforms (Teams) and using business analytics systems.
  • VISUAL AND MANUAL DEXTERITY :

  • The candidate should be able to read paper and electronic documents and perform data entry into various computer programs.
  • WORK ENVIRONMENT / PHYSICAL EFFORT :

  • Hybrid work setting. Position entails a combination of in-person and remote work.
  • Travel required between program locations and other Jewish Board sites.
