Summary:
The Account Manager is one of the primary business contacts for Clients and is responsible for servicing commercial lines accounts with revenue up to $25,000. You will handle the day-to-day management of accounts including client and carrier requests in a timely manner per department procedures and support the Account Executive and Producer in achieving positive outcomes for our clients.
This role will provide service commercial lines accounts by handling the day-to-day management of accounts including client and carrier requests in a timely manner per department procedures, including developing and maintaining positive working relationships with clients and carrier partners.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Invoice premium bearing transactions.
- Collect premiums per established agency procedures.
- Notify producer, account executive or department manager of any unpaid audits and request appropriate actions be made according to agency collections procedure.
- Maintain expiration list following department procedures.
- Delegate support tasks to associate account managers and ensure accurate and timely completion of delegated tasks.
- Prepare/delegate account summaries as required.
- Prepare new business and renewal submissions for quotes. Coordinate expirations with producer and/or account executive to compile account information including required supplemental documentation, underwriting data, and quote option needs. Prepare proposals of insurance including forms analysis and premium comparisons.
- Market submissions to carriers as appropriate and aggressively negotiate new and renewal pricing with carrier. Quote online as required by carrier.
- Review all applications, quotes, policies, endorsements, and audits for accuracy.
- Prepare/delegate policies, endorsements, certificates, auto ID cards and related documents for delivery to insureds as needed.
- Prepare/delegate and process cancellations when required per agency procedures.
- Prepare/delegate and process all certificate requests as required within 24 hours of request per agency procedures.
- Report claims to carrier and assist in claims management issues as needed.
- Maintain suspense items in a timely manner.
Qualifications:
- Professional designation preferred. Must hold or currently be working toward industry professional designation such as CPCU, CIC, ARM, etc.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, and Excel) and computer systems in general.
- Experience working with various Agency Management Systems including Epic.
Education & Licensing Requirements:
- 4-year bachelor’s degree preferred. High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience as an account manager or industry related industry experience.
- Must be licensed per state requirements.
