About the role

The Half Shell Bartender takes beverage orders from staff or directly from guest to prepare cocktails and other drinks. The bartender is responsible for organizing and controlling the operations of the Bar. It is expected for the bartender to be highly knowledgeable about making signature cocktails and taking initiative with being creative in designing the perfect cocktail to meet our guest expectations. The bartender is also required to provide consistency with beverage pours and enthusiastically demonstrate Four Seasons Standards of service. This position requires a friendly and calm demeanor in a sometimes hectic and demanding environment.

We are seeking candidates who have a passion for providing the best in class service and can connect with guests by creating experiences, memories and demonstrating the finer touches of luxury service.

The qualified candidate will be able to complete a knowledge test on cocktails and pours. Previous experience required and day time availability.

What you will do

• Prepare and serve a selection of wines, spirits, and mixed drinks from the menu while ensuring proper pouring, mixing, and blending according to established recipes and established Four Seasons Standards. (30%)

• Confirm guest orders including any special needs or requests from the lounge server using the hotel’s point-of-sales system; check completed orders with the guest’s original order.  (15%)

• Service and take orders from guests seated at the bar area offering interesting, and vivid descriptions of each item’s, origin, taste, and preparation methods; maintain a working knowledge of liquors, wines, beets, ports, Armagnacs, eau de vies, cognacs and specialty drinks.  (15%)

• Anticipate guest needs, ascertain satisfaction, and offer suggestions, and respond urgently and appropriately to guest concerns and requests.  (10%)

• Properly and accurately close guest checks; process cash and credit card payments; properly settle voided checks or complimentary items.  (10%)

• Comply with Four Seasons’ Category One and Category Two Work Rules and Standards of Conduct as set forth in Empact. (10%)

• Work harmoniously and professionally with co-workers and supervisors.  (10%)

ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS:

• Serve food items in the bar area.

• Assist with bar inventory.

• Cut fruit and prepare beverage garnishments.

What you bring

Experience: Minimum two years food service or related work.

Skills and Abilities: Ability to carry and balance a tray. Ability to accurately process cash and credit card transactions. Ability to handle inventories.

Schedule & Hours:

•    Successful candidates will be hired as regular, full-time employee. Successful candidates are expected to work day and night shifts, holidays, and/or weekends.
