What are the responsibilities and job description for the Associate Designer - Legwear/Hosiery position at Fourth Floor?
Our client, a hosiery/socks/sleepwear manufacturer, is seeking an Associate Designer to join their team in NYC!
Responsibilities:
- Assist the design team in the creation of designs that reflect the conceptual direction and business strategy
- Stay up to date on competitor research and trend analysis
- Create seasonal shopping reports
- Create initial flat sketches and update as needed
- Enter data into PLM with clear/accurate specifications and construction.
- Create CAD decks and tech packs
- Partner with technical design on fit and execution of prototypes and participate in scheduled fit sessions.
- Track and organize development samples, ensuring they are delivered within required timelines and seamlessly passed off to key parties
- Prepare garments for Sales meetings
- Partner with Merchandising and Marketing teams to create and update design line sheets
- Attend routine team meetings and key partner alignment session
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Fashion Design or equivalent experience preferred
- 3-5 years of design experience (must have experience designing hosiery, socks, cold weather accessories, or knitwear)
- Highly proficient in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
- Knowledge of PowerPoint, Word, Print Development and PLM skills.
- Basic knowledge of garment construction (legwear/knitwear preferred)
- Possess a good sense of color. Proficient in creating of print repeats.
- Solid understanding and ability to communicate accurate construction instructions.
This is a full-time, hybrid position. Requires 4 days in office, 1 day remote.
Salary Range: $65,000-$85,000
