Our rapidly growing wholesale houseware client, is seeking a innovative and dynamic designer to join their team.
Responsibilities:
- Design and develop functional bags i.e. backpacks, coolers, lunch bags, and luggage
- Create assortments to uphold a cohesive collection
- Create and present design for clients with concept boards, sketches, and renderings
- Produce sketches, renderings, technical drawings, and material specs
- Research market trends, materials, and construction techniques for inspiration
- Collaborate with Product Development to align with quality, cost, and timeline requirements
- Collaborate with packaging and branding team to ensure cohesive product presentation
- Support in factory and vendor communication for samples, production, and revisions
- Keep abreast of competitor products and industry innovations stay on top and remain competitive
Qualifications:
- 3 years of product design experience (in soft goods, backpacks, coolers, or similar categories)
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop) for technical drawings and concept development
- Strong understanding of materials, construction, and manufacturing processes related to bags and soft goods
- Excellent visual communication skills (sketching, technical drawing, mood boards)
- Ability to develop assortments and collections that deliver a cohesive design story across multiple product types
- Experience in packaging design for consumer products is a plus
- Experience with 3D design software (e.g., Solidworks, Keyshot, or similar) is a plus
- Ability to travel as needed
- Highly organized, collaborative, and able to manage multiple projects at once
