What are the responsibilities and job description for the Designer, Cut & Sew Knits + Wovens (Girls Apparel) position at Fourth Floor?
Our client, a well known fashion brand in NYC, is looking for a creative Designer for Woven & Knits to join their team on a contract basis! Pay is DOE.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with Design team to oversee processes from concept through production stages.
- Utilize Illustrator to develop CAD flats/ create hand sketched renderings.
- Utilize PLM to maintain development info.
- Assist in research of seasonal trends, colors, and raw materials within brand identity
- Oversee sample maintenance - work with factories to request protos.
- Attend design meetings and work cross functionally with tech design and production.
- Generate tech packs with clear instructions to share with factories.
- Assist with decisions regarding prints, color, materials, etc.
Qualifications
- Apparel Design degree & 5 years experience in woven and knits
- Portfolio featuring clean woven & knits design work
- Proficiency in Illustrator, Photoshop, Microsoft Word and Excel
- Flex PLM experience
- Detail oriented and able to work in fast-paced environment
- Technical hand sketching and CAD ability
