What are the responsibilities and job description for the Designer, Women's RTW position at Fourth Floor?
Our client, a luxury fashion brand, is hiring for a Designer, RTW to join the team in New York! This is a temporary contract role.
Responsibilities:
- Creates sketches and product prototypes throughout the conceptual design process
- Partners with Director to develop and refine seasonal concept, materials, and palette
- Ability to come up with new innovative silhouettes within the brand aesthetic for soft woven dresses as well as occasional dresses.
- Responsible for upholding design integrity, high quality execution, and timeliness throughout the entire development process from concept through engineering and commercialization
- Partners cross-functionally with Merchandising and Product Development on regular basis
- Participates in meetings with cross-functional category partners
- Ability to work independently and on multiple seasons at one time
- Adhere to seasonal and time and action calendars, ensuring that the category meets deadlines
Experience Needed:
- Degree in Fashion Design or equivalent work experience
- Minimum 7 years of design experience
- Must provide digital portfolio of work
- Strong taste level, research skills, ability to identify silhouettes, pattern, and color
- Strong hand sketching skills in addition to sketching technical drawings on Illustrator
- Ability to drape new, interesting silhouettes as well as creating interesting new finishing's
- Strong working knowledge of Centric PLM, Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, Microsoft Word and Excel
- Experience developing product directly with factories; understanding of development from concept through engineering
- Must be able to build all tech packs and pass specs in a detailed, organized, and clear manner for factory proto sample making
