Our client, a fast-growing apparel Company, is looking for a Lead Merchandiser to join their team in NYC! This position will serve as the primary point of contact for the Walmart account, managing all aspects of the business relationship and ensuring alignment with Walmart’s merchandising strategy.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular market research to stay abreast of industry trends, competitive landscape, and consumer behavior. Use insights to inform product assortment and merchandising strategies.
- Monitor sales performance and inventory levels to optimize stock and reduce overages or shortages. Develop and implement plans to achieve sales targets and improve sell-through rates.
- Prepare and present regular reports on sales performance, inventory status, and market trends to senior management. Use data to make informed decisions and drive continuous improvement.
- Ensure all products comply with Walmart’s standards and regulatory requirements, including packaging, labeling, and safety standards.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Merchandising, Marketing, or a related field.
- Proven track record of managing major retail accounts, preferably with Walmart.
- Strong understanding of the retail market, particularly in the clothing industry.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to analyze data and market trends to make strategic decisions.
- Ability to travel as needed to meet with Walmart representatives and attend industry events.
