Merchandising Manager - Handbags

Our client, a leading handbag brand, is seeking a Merchandising Manager to join their team in NYC!

Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the design team, providing creative direction, guidance, and mentorship.
• Develop seasonal handbag collections that align with brand vision and target market trends.
• Collaborate with product development, materials sourcing, and manufacturing teams to bring designs to life.
• Ensure the design process is efficient, from concept development to final product execution.
• Conduct market research to identify emerging trends, consumer preferences, and competitors.
• Maintain a high standard of quality and innovation in all designs.
• Present design concepts and collections to senior management and key stakeholders.
• Drive the evolution of the brand’s handbag identity, ensuring consistency across all product lines.

Qualifications:

• 4 years of experience in handbag or fashion accessory design, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
• Strong portfolio showcasing creativity, innovation, and expertise in handbag design.
• Proficient in design software such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and CAD.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and team management skills.
• Ability to balance creative vision with business objectives and market demands.
• Degree in Fashion Design or related field.
