Our client, an apparel manufacturing brand, is seeking a Senior Designer - Baby/Toddler, to join their New York team!
Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and development of baby and toddler apparel for both boys and girls, covering newborn to toddler sizes.
- Research trends, fabrics, trims, colors, and silhouettes to create compelling and marketable designs.
- Develop seasonal collections in alignment with brand and licensing requirements, ensuring differentiation across product lines.
- Create detailed tech packs, including sketches, specifications, and construction details, for overseas vendors.
- Collaborate closely with merchandising, sourcing, and production teams to ensure product feasibility, costing, and timely execution.
- Manage fittings and oversee revisions, ensuring high-quality standards in fit, fabric, and construction.
- Maintain awareness of competitive market trends and consumer preferences.
Qualifications:
- 6 years of experience in baby/toddler apparel design, preferably with experience in both boys' and girls' categories.
- Strong understanding of garment construction, fabrications, and safety regulations for infant apparel.
- Experience working with licensed brands and adhering to brand-specific guidelines.
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and PLM software.
- Excellent sketching ability, both hand-drawn and digital.
- Strong knowledge of trend forecasting, market analysis, and competitive shopping.
- Highly organized, self-motivated, and proactive, with strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative.
Full time in office
$75,000-$105,000 depending on experience
