Job Summary
We are seeking highly skilled Automotive Electricians to join our team at Fouts Bros Inc, a leading commercial truck manufacturer in the US. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing electrical accessories and components on up-fitted truck bodies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install various types of vehicle lighting, including beacon lights, strobe lights, and more.
- Install switches and relays for seamless functionality.
- Install trailer plugs, cranes, auxiliary batteries, dump trucks, compressors, and brake controllers.
- Pneumatic Systems and Electrical: Ensure efficient installation and testing.
- Use overhead cranes to lift heavy parts and units with precision.
- Read technical information and work orders to perform installations accurately.
- Inspect electrical systems for defects and test circuits for proper functioning.
- Cut materials according to specifications or needs.
- Disassemble and reassemble equipment dashes for installation.
- Seal gaps or cracks to prevent leakage or moisture intrusion.
- Clean equipment, parts, or tools to maintain good working order.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
- Select correct wires and tools for each task.
- Understand OEM wiring color codes and functions.
- Knowledge of electrical schematic diagrams is essential.
- Experience with Underbody Compressor/Generator Hydraulic Compressors is required.
- Working knowledge of 12-volt & 24-volt systems.
- Must have knowledge of PTO wiring and diagnostics.
- Problem-solving and decision-making skills are crucial.
- Mathematical problem-solving skills are necessary.
- Understanding diagrams and work-related documents is vital.
- Time management is essential for meeting deadlines.
Working Conditions:
This job operates in a shop production environment with regular contact with others. Face-to-face discussion with individuals or teams is required. Possible exposure to distracting or uncomfortable noise levels may occur.
Essential Physical Tasks:
- Lift 50lbs periodically.
- Use hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools or controls.
- Stand for extended periods.
- Work in close physical proximity to other people.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust.
- High accuracy and attention to detail are necessary.
- Meet strict deadlines and timeframes.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position with a standard Monday through Friday schedule from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with possible overtime requirements.
Preferred Education and Experience:
3 years of experience in automotive electrical diagnostics, repair, and installation.
