Facility Sweeper Operator/Cleaning
Job Summary: The Facility Sweeper Operator & General Cleaning is responsible for maintaining a clean, sanitary, and safe environment within our facility. This role involves performing a variety of cleaning tasks to ensure the facility is presentable and comfortable for all occupants.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain ride-on-floor sweeping equipment to clean various types of floor surfaces in the facility.
- Operate and maintain walk-behind floor scrubbing equipment to clean various types of floor surfaces in the facility.
- Conduct routine checks and maintenance on sweeping equipment to ensure it is in proper working condition.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs to the appropriate personnel.
- Perform routine cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuuming in common areas, restrooms, offices, and other designated areas.
- Empty and clean trash receptacles and dispose of waste in a sanitary manner.
- Assist with other cleaning and maintenance tasks as required.
- Assist with general facility projects of varying scopes.
- In the absence of a full-time Custodian, restock supplies such as toilet paper, paper towels, and soap in restrooms and other areas as needed.
- In the absence of a full-time Custodian, clean and sanitize restrooms, including toilets, sinks, mirrors, and floors.
- Adhere to health and safety guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
- Assist with special cleaning projects as assigned.
- Adhere to safety guidelines and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience operating floor sweeping equipment or in a similar role is preferred.
- Ability to operate and maintain various types of floor-sweeping equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining cleanliness standards.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills and the ability to follow instructions.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods.
- Comfortable working in various weather conditions if required for outdoor cleaning tasks.
Work Schedule:
6 am – 2:30 pm Monday – Friday with possibility of after shift and weekend mandatory overtime
