What are the responsibilities and job description for the Electrical Controls Technician position at Fowler Packing?
The Electrical Controls Technician will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and replacing industrial equipment and machinery used in a produce packing environment. Prior food manufacturing/packing experience and experience with Computerize Maintenance Management Software (CMMS) and Programmable Logic Controls (PLCs) is preferred.

Essential Functions:
• Perform calibration, preventive maintenance and testing of equipment.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose problems and repair plant instrumentation and process systems.
• Install, start up and shut down equipment in accordance with company safety procedures.
• Communicate with operators and maintenance personnel on operation procedures and requirements for working safely with electrical/electronic components and equipment.
• Active participation in plant safety processes.
• Analyze, troubleshoot, replace and install electrical DC controls and AC controls
• Power distribution troubleshooting and electrical installations
• Troubleshoot and correction of equipment PLCs
• Suggest, design and upgrade existing equipment controls
• Develop, create and keep current all electrical documentation.
• Provide safe and timely electrical support.
• Equipment electrical safety control installation, repair and troubleshooting
• PLC programing and modification of programs and devices
• Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, diagnosis and repair of manufacturing and facility equipment.
• Thorough knowledge of instrumentation, including calibration, repair and installation.
install/program/troubleshoot Industrial Electrical Equipment, PLC, AC/DC Variable Speed Drives, and Human Machine Interfaces.
• Have complete knowledge of all current and voltage characteristics such as single phase, 3 phase, 110v, 220v, 440, 12.5kv and D.C. voltage.
• Instrumentation & Control Technician certification is highly desired.
• Have working knowledge of solid-state circuitry and programmable controllers.
• Able to work with various Process Control programs and operating systems.
• Have excellent time management, communications, decision making, human relations and organization skills. Able to resolve problems in a timely manner.
• Able to work scheduled hours which could include shift work.
• Self-Motivated.
• High school or equivalent. Associated Degree preferred.
• 1 years’ experience preferred within related fields.
• Have 3 to 5 years of industrial experience in electronics, instrumentation, maintenance, calibration and process controls.
• Associate’s level education in an industrial maintenance related field from a two-year college or technical school and/or equivalent work experience and education.
