Summary: Part Time Custodian is responsible for safety, security, and cleanliness of the building(s) and grounds, maintaining the school's excellent physical condition for full educational use at all times.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

- Perform cleaning of rooms in an assigned areas in building.
- Removes trash, re-lines trash recepticals and removes trash from building.
- Open or assist head custodians in building security depending on shift.
- Works with standard custodial chemicals and finishes for cleaning, sanitizing and disinfection.
- Performs assigned full cleaning assignments, utilizing the cleaning process.
- Dust mops or vacuums floors and dusts rooms, uses various vacuum cleaners, including a backpack vacuum.
- Cleans, sanitizes, maintains and repairs, urinals, stools and other restroom fixtures.
- Washes windows and doors as appropriate.
- Replenishes, maintains, and repairs soap and paper dispensers.
- Washes white boards, desks, chairs, walls, tables, and other room surfaces and furnishings.
- Performs all other light housekeeping chores.
- Secure all doors and windows and take down flags.
- Maintains floors including floor finishing and floor machine operation.
- Removes trash and re-lines trash receptacles.
- Cleans snow and ice from walkways around buildings to roads.
- Changes light bulbs and create work order for light fixture repairs or replacement of faulty ballasts.
- Moves and assembles furniture and other classroom equipment as authorized by the principal.
- Create work orders for repairs in your perspective area and others that are found within your building.
- Continually checks, corrects, or reports dangerous equipment conditions and potentially hazardous situations.
- Properly clean and care for all equipment. Store equipment and supplies neatly in assigned areas
- Climbs ladders and works from scaffolding.
- Assists in summer building clean up as directed by the Director of Maintenance or their designee.
- Completes painting projects as assigned by the Director of Maintenance or their designee.
- Effectively communicates all operational needs to principals, staff, lead custodian and the operations office.
- Provides support and cleanup for any event within your building as needed.
- Maintains excellent personal hygiene.
- Exercise safe procedures at all times, using good judgment in the protection of his/her own and others' safety.
- Speak, hear, see and write clearly with or without assistive device(s).
- Walk, stand for the full scheduled period, with minimal sitting options.
- Adhere to all Board and District policies
- Perform other duties as assigned

- Maintains consistent, predictable and physical attendance to meet the requirements of the position.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED
- Basic understanding and knowledge of current technology
Physical Requirements:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be physically present, regularly required to sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; talk and hear.
- The employee is required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and ability to adjust, focus, especially due to concentration on a computer screen and small numbers.
The employee shall remain free of any alcohol or non-prescribed controlled substance in the workplace throughout his/her employment in the District.
