POSITION TITLE: Director of Data & Student Information
STATUS: 260-Day Contract; Exempt
REPORTS TO: Chief Technology & Communications Officer
POSITION SUMMARY: This position is responsible for the collection, review, and reporting of all student data, including state and federal compliance reporting. This role involves managing the student information system, ensuring data integrity, overseeing Career and Technical Education program compliance, and making recommendations to improve the district’s APR score.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Direct the evaluation and submission of district Core Data according to Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) cycle requirements and deadlines in the Core Data Manual including, but not limited to, PK-12 submissions of Core Data and MOSIS Data Collection Cycles for August, October, December, February, April, and June.
- Direct the evaluation and submission of all federal compliance reports.
- Monitor communication from DESE around compliance, reporting, and APR, and make recommendations to district leadership.
- Manage the submission of MOSIS Assessment Pre-code data.
- Oversee the management and cleanup of data in the student information system to prepare for reporting cycles.
- Coordinate with the technology department and the Director of Assessment/CCR to ensure the accurate and timely import of assessment results into student records.
- Oversee compliance and reporting in all Career and Technical Education programs.
- Update and monitor teacher certification requirements to maintain compliance with approved programs in Career and Technical Education.
- Manage student achievement records by providing information to both internal and external stakeholders.
- Support Career Technical Student Organizations in compliance with DESE expectations.
- Monitor federal and state funding and district budgets for CTE programs.
- Facilitate all data appeals and corrections for all local, state, and federal reporting.
- Oversee the management of all aspects of the student information system.
- Oversee the maintenance and validation of current data in the student information system (SIS) and related fields in other programs.
- Present data to various stakeholder groups.
- Communicate with DESE regarding questions on LEA data submissions.
- Ensure all data management practices align with state and federal guidelines.
- Implement best practices in data management, privacy, and reporting procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- Ability to read, analyze, and determine an effective course of action based upon various types of written and verbal information.
BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
- Master’s degree in Educational Leadership, Curriculum & Instruction, Educational Technology, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in SIS management, data management, or a related role.
- Experience working with Missouri Assessment Program (MAP) guidelines and compliance.
- Experience managing and analyzing large data sets to inform instructional decisions.
- Experience in supporting district initiatives and efforts in College and Career Readiness.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The work setting involves performance in an environment with various levels of staff to supervise and the accomplishment of tasks that are often interrupted by persons with special and/or immediate needs. The employee must be able to regularly work non-traditional hours, including evenings and weekends. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, talk, hear, and utilize manual dexterity. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms, to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and to lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, the ability to adjust focus, and depth perception. The employee must independently transport him/herself to various sites in the District as well as other sites out of the District for various types of meetings and events.
