A Day in the Life of a Concrete Foreman
As a Concrete Foreman, you’re the expert guiding your crew through the day’s concrete tasks. You’ll:
- Oversee concrete work including form setting, rebar tying, finishing, footings, retaining walls, and flatwork
- Operate equipment and keep maintenance logs up to date
- Uphold safety standards, ensuring all team members wear proper PPE
- Read and interpret blueprints and specs to keep jobs on track
- Mentor and train new crew members and foster a supportive team atmosphere
- Collaborate with the Project Manager, Superintendent, and Concrete Supervisor
- Monitor site progress, quality, and cleanliness—because customer satisfaction matters
- Determine daily work schedules and communicate changes to clients and crews
What You Bring to the Table
- Prior supervisory experience in a construction environment
- Strong background in concrete forms, rebar, layout, setting and finishing
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proven problem-solving and analytical abilities
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints
- CDL A endorsement preferred
- General construction knowledge
- At least 3 years of hands-on concrete labor experience
