What are the responsibilities and job description for the Golf Starter Ranger position at FOX HOLLOW GOLF COURSE?
Fox Hollow Golf Course in La Crosse, WI is looking for golf starters/rangers to join our team. We are located on N3287 County Rd Oa. Hours are mainly Friday thru Sunday, 1 to 2 shifts per week.
Description:
Manage tee sheet, ensure pace of play, act as liaison between players and course management/employees, handle emergency situations and generally ensure the course is maintained and all aspects of play run smoothly.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Act as ambassador for golf course, providing friendly, approachable and courteous customer service, representing Fox Hollow professionally at all times
- Manage tee sheet to ensure that guests are meeting tee time expectations
- Check receipts, greet and start all groups prior to teeing off
- Communicate effectively with customers and staff
- Maintain desirable pace of play
- Monitor play by riding the golf course in the opposite direction from play, being mindful not to interfere or disturb players when they are about to play a shot.
- Educate guests and enforce rules and regulations, removing golfers who are in violation
- Monitor weather conditions and proactively alert guests to dangerous conditions up to and including removing golfers from the course (e.g. lightning, hail, etc.)
- Maintain course supplies (e.g. water coolers, cups, scorecards, etc.) and ensure they are properly placed throughout the course at all times
- Stage, clean, store and otherwise manage golf cart fleet on a daily basis
- Maintain greens and fix ball marks daily
- Repair divots with sand on all par 3 holes, fix fairway divots, rake bunkers
- Monitor play on the course, being courteous to and respectful of guests
- Report any guest or other individual destroying or defacing property
- Ability to accommodate a flexible schedule to include early morning/opening, late evening/closing, weekends, and holidays
- Assist in set-up and operation of tournaments, leagues, events, outings, etc.
- Assist pro shop and beverage cart staff as instructed.
Requirements/Qualifications:
- Basic golf knowledge is preferred but not required.
- Punctual and reliable.
- Exceptional grooming habits including maintaining clean and complete attire as designated by management.
- Ability to multitask and complete tasks in a timely and accurate manner with minimal supervision.
- Must possess a high regard for customer service.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including holidays and weekends.
- Comfortable working in outdoor environments.
Physical Requirements:
- Sitting, standing, walking, reaching, stooping, bending, twisting, kneeling, pushing and pulling. Must be able to lift 20 lbs.
